Nantes
It is a city in Loire-Atlantique of France on the Loire, 50 km from the Atlantic coast. The city is the sixth largest in France.
Nantes was labeled “City of Art and History” in 2000.
CLIMATE
Nantes has an oceanic climate influenced by its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean. West winds produced by cyclonic depressions in the Atlantic dominate, and north and north-west winds are also common. Slight variations in elevation make fog common in valleys, and slopes oriented south and south-west have good insolation. Winters are cool and rainy, with an average temperature of 6 °C snow is rare. Summers are warm, with an average temperature of 20 °C. Rain is abundant throughout the year.
ACCESS
- The easiest way to get to Nantes from Paris is to take the train at Montparnasse station (2 hours by TGV high-speed train): https://www.oui.sncf/
- From the Nantes train station, to reach the Maison des Echanges Internationaux, the International Exchanges House, take tram line 1 and get off at Commerce stop (the city’s central hub).
- If you arrive at Nantes Atlantique international airport, take the direct shuttle bus to Commerce station.
